Mine did what yours did, after reboot being there and being usable but saying it needed a reboot. When I clicked edit it showed it as not checked even though it all worked. I re-checked it, clicked OK....

I think this is normal behavior with the snapshots, since its also not possible under ESXi 5.0 to take (at least quiesced) snapshots from running VMs which have pci passthrough devices attached.
