I think this is unrelated to the web view and related to the upgrade of vCenter + vCenter plug-in for vCO.
In version 5 the query service is used to fetch objects and some users reported issues in this forum.
I suggest checking the same things happens in the vCO client.
You can also try to turn off the vCenter Query service to see if it fixes the issue.
If this is related to the vCenter plug-in VMware GSS may have another fix available.
