Many of the engineers in my organziation are thrilled with the 5.1 USB support via the vSphere Client App and vSphere Client Web interfaces. This is allowing them to quickly and easily test a number of USB devices on the VM.
Now the test engineers want to get in on the fun - and they want to automate it. They've said they can't reliably automate starting the vSphere Client (app or web), navigating to the VM, and clicking the necessary buttons to connect or disconnect a USB device on the client side. They're wondering if there is some way to initiate this via the command line? Is there a tool that can do such a thing? Can the vSphere Client App take command line options that will do this? Perhaps there are some special URL parameters that could be added to the vSphere Client Web to do this? Maybe a powershell script to use with VMWare CLI to do it?
Any suggestions?
