Re: Fusion 5, Wacom and Win8

Hi kentbraun,

Here's a slight tangent to your actual question: If you configure Fusion to pass the USB device through to the VM, you'll get pressure-sensitivity.  And most likely the clicks will work too.  Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view.
(The down-side is that it will be constrained to only work within the VM while it's passed-through.)  Note that if you don't pass through the tablet, the Wacom software inside the guest wouldn't be expected to know that there is a tablet at all... Windows would just see an absolute pointing device.

If you're interested in trying USB passthrough for your tablet, see this KB article for the steps to configure it.  Heed the warnings in the article, though: Be sure that you don't accidentally pass-through your main keyboard and mouse, or you will end up stuck inside your VM with no way out!

Regardless, it sounds like the behavior you describe is not what we'd want to have... one would expect that simple clicks with a tablet would work.  What model of tablet is it?  (I think Wacoms have the model number on a sticker on the underside of the unit.)  Do you have the Wacom drivers (or Wacom Control Panel) installed on the host?  If so, what version are they?  Maybe check the Wacom site to see if there are updated drivers.

Cheers,
