Can you please clarify this. I understand you cloned a virtual machine, but I don't understand the "team" part.
Anyway, if the network adapter is still configured in the VM's settings and "Connected", but you don't see it in the VM's guest OS then this looks like a driver issue in the guest itself. Which type of virtual network adapter (e.g. E1000) is configured for the VM and which guest OS is running?
