2) Reinstall WS and choose the repair option.

3) You have not said whether or not VMware Tools were installed. With Windows this will be automatic. Let most things "automatic" I tend to avoid this. Try reinstalling VMware Tools from the VM tab. That wayn you will bring up a GUI and may find whether your drivers are going to be installed v8a Tools or not.
