Not really, as VC would complain or rename the datastores to a datastore (1) etc. One thing would be to disconnect the hosts from VC and try but that will cause other issues like loss of performance metrices or EVC issues if EVC is connected.
Another thing would be to SV motion all VM's off one datastore at a time, unmount datastore from all hosts and mount back again, but this can be done provided you have free space
