Hi Everyone,
I'm trying to virtualize my Windows XP (sp3) laptop but I'm having a real difficult time.
When I try to virtualize it, it begins but fails almost immediately and has the following message:
The virtualization of "xxxxxx" failed. An unexpected error occurred.
...
...
After digging through the log files I found the cause. Here is what the log files says:
Connecting to Windows XP Professional on 192.168.1.111 as Administrator
SMB manager: Error connecting to share [\\192.168.1.111\Windows XP Professional]: 1130
Failed to connect to Windows XP Professional on 192.168.1.111. Reason: Unspecified error in remote execution mechanism
File share connection failed - Could be due to an invalid network path
CreateVM: Vm creation failed with fault converter.fault.NetworkShareConnectFault
When I did a quick ipconfig I found that it showed the following:
Ethernet adapter VMware Network Adapter VMnet8:

IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.115.1

Can someone tell mw why I keep getting this error message and why I can't virtualize my laptop? Any helpful tips would be appreciated.
Thanks!!
